"Great cozy addition to the Needlecraft Myteries series."
Excelsior's annual Art in the Park is always a great
time...until a master woodworking artist gets killed with
one of his own tools. Normally, Betsy Devonshire,
proprietor of Crewel World, would be up to her embroidery
in the investigation. However, after unintentionally getting her recently
promoted friend, Sgt. Jill Cross, into trouble at the job
because of talking to a civilian about police business,
Betsy has no desire to get involved. She's more concerned
with warming her friend's Scandinavian heart. However, the
needlework fans of her store and the family of the suspect
in custody want Betsy to take action in unearthing the real
killer of the talented McFey, an artist who died of murder
as opposed to his terminal illness. Fans of the Needlecraft Mysteries will be happy to rekindle
relationships with their old friends who drop by Crewel
World. New readers should have no trouble falling
immediately into the fast-paced, riveting storyline. Of
course, needlecrafters will especially enjoy the references
to the details of the art, but Ferris makes sure that those
uninitiated into the craft never feel lost or ill at ease.
This is a perfect "cuddle up under the handmade blanket and
sip cocoa" book!
