REVIEW

"Interesting paranormal plot with likable characters."

Catherine de la Fer knows her name and that she suffers from stigmata, but little else in this year of 1659 in Paris. She has a small skill in fencing and is attempting to hone that skill. Enter Jack Marstone, emissary of the exiled King Charles of England, who'll teach her fencing. When he learns where she's from, he plans to return her home and earn a reward for his king.

However, neither of them are aware of an evil presence following Catherine, determined to either drain her of her paranormal power and turn that power to evil, or to kill her before she remembers her past. This isn't the best time to fall in love, but they can't help it, and love, of course, complicates things greatly.

In DARK ENCHANTMENT, we're reunited with the de la Fer family, though in a time period a hundred years or so before Ms. Harbaugh's previous novel, NIGHT FIRES. She makes it easy to slip comfortably into the 17th century and brings that world to life immediately. The characters are very likable, the plot interesting and quite Understandable, and the passion incendiary. I liked it a lot and will definitely read her next novel. A very good read!
