"Charming Regency romance."
American Abigail Mercer arrives in London expecting a warm
welcome from the husband she married by proxy. Abby is
stunned when Viscount Ravenswood denies any knowledge of
their union. Humiliated that she was so easily duped, Abby
sees her hopes of marriage fade away. Being half Indian,
Abby had received no offers of marriage in America. Spencer, Viscount Ravenswood, is appalled at the fraud his
brother engineered to obtain Abby's dowry and family
business. At a critical time in his career, Spencer can't
afford a scandal. When Abby appears at his dinner party,
Spencer is unable to refute her position. He convinces Abby
to masquerade as his wife until he can locate his brother
to straighten out the terrible mess and avoid dishonoring
his family's name. A strained relationship ensues as Abby tries to win
Spencer's love while he denies his attraction to her and
forces Abby to see that she'd be an inappropriate
Viscountess. Spencer succeeds only in discovering he's very
wrong. MARRIED TO THE VISCOUNT is a charming Regency that will
please Ms. Jeffries' many fans.
