REVIEW

"She Slept with her Boss"

Italian tycoon Andreo D'Alessio embodies the very essence of maleness. He is sleek, suave, and incredibly rich. But his comments when he sees the company picture to familiarize himself with the employees of his newest acquisition, aren't so dreamy. In fact, one comment about one particular woman sets off a vicious chain reaction that is both demoralizing and detrimental to the accountant he's never met.

Pippa didn't mean to sleep with her new boss. In fact, she didn't even know he was her boss until the next day! Even then, she had a hard time realizing that her generous, considerate lover was actually the cruel and callous man who had robbed her of the promotion she had been aiming for. Ending it should be simple, now that Pippa knows the truth — but Andreo isn't so anxious to end their liaison....

Loosely connected with two other Presents novels by Graham, THE ITALIAN BOSS'S MISTRESS is the second volume in the Brides of L'Amour series, but it is a wonderfully emotional read that doesn't need another book to support its plot or characters. Andreo - Italian, rich, determined - is a mouth- watering alpha hero. (Don't worry, he has a sensitive side.) Pippa, though at her admitted worst in the infamous photo, is a strong woman with a backbone — a perfect foil for Andero's strength. Though the story itself does rely on tried-and-true Harlequin 'gimmicks' in places, it is a deeply emotional tale with a dollop of mildly explicit sex. For those who like office romance — or those who crave romances with intense emotional aspects to them — THE ITALIAN BOSS'S MISTRESS is a great read.
