"This latest Dark Hunter book is truly exceptional!"
Zarek is a Roman slave turned exiled Dark Hunter. Accused
of killing people he was supposed to protect, he's banished
to Alaska. Zarek has survived a lonely existence in frigid
temperatures never to feel the warmth of even a hug for 900
years. He lashes out at anyone who dares to come near him
and suspects all of hidden motives. The goddess of the hunt, Artemis, wants Zarek destroyed,
but Acheron, the first Dark Hunter, convinces her to let
Astrid, a Greek goddess of judgment, judge him. Astrid has
never found a man innocent. In order to judge fairly,
Astrid loses her eyesight during the process. She goes to
Alaska and brings Zarek into her home after he's attacked
and shot by those sent by Artemis, who agrees with
Acheron on one hand, yet always follows her own rules on
the other. Astrid is able to "see" Zarek's suffering and pain, but
he's hardened by all the horror of his past. She must
discover the goodness in his heart, his ability to love and
care, not only for others, but also for himself. DANCE WITH THE DEVIL is wrought with emotional pain and
suffering, the tale of a man at the most vulnerable and the
most beautiful moment in his life. And it's the story of an
emotionally void woman who accepts the dance with the
devil. This latest installment in Ms. Kenyon's Dark Hunter
series is truly exceptional!

SummaryZarek was born the unwanted son of a Greek slave and a
Roman senator. Moments after his birth, his mother gave him
to a servant with orders to kill the infant. The servant
took mercy on the child and took him to his father who had
no more use for the baby than his mother had so Zarek
became the whipping boy of a noble Roman family.
No one knows how he died or why he traded his soul- he
keeps it as a well-guarded secret. He trusts no one. He
seldom interacts with other Dark-Hunters and when he does,
it is always grudgingly and with the utmost disdain for
them.
Because of his steadfast denial to follow any orders (even
those of Artemis) and his lack of regard for anyone other
than himself, he is kept in isolation in Alaska where his
activity is seriously limited and closely monitored. There
are many who fear he will one day unleash his powers
against the humans as well as the Daimons.
