"A touching story."
Bachelor Nolan McKinnon, editor/owner of the Arroyo County
Bulletin in Enchantment, New Mexico, is at his wit's end.
What was his sister thinking to name him guardian of his 6-
year-old niece when he knows nothing about kids? He hadn't
even spoken to his sister since their mother died. Accountant Kim Sherman comes to Enchantment and takes a job
at the Birth Place. This gives her the opportunity to meet
her grandmother Lydia, her only living relative. Of course,
she'd never disrupt Lydia's life by letting her know who
she is, since Lydia gave Kim's mother up for adoption when
Lydia was only 16. Kim has allowed herself a year to get
acquainted and that time is almost up. Nolan and Kim are thrown together by Nolan's niece,
Samantha. Kim adores the little girl and knows firsthand
about losing a parent at a young age. Money problems at the
Birth Place, the death of Nolan's sister and her baby son,
and then the suicide of her husband, have left everyone
devastated. Now Lydia is receiving threatening letters. This touching story will tear at your heart for all the
tragedy everyone goes through, and yet they're still able
to find a silver lining.

SummaryNolan McKinnon is shocked when he's named his niece's
guardian. He knows nothing about taking care of a little
girlespecially an orphanbut he still would
have bet he knew more than Kim Sherman.
Kim's a newcomer to Enchantmentone who seems a
little too determined not to get involved with anyone. But
Nolan can't refuse help, even if it comes from a woman
with secrets in her past....
