REVIEW

"Another delightful, well-written adventure with the Effington family."

Philadelphia "Delia" Effington stuns her family (and herself) when she unexpectedly marries Lord Wilmont following a brief acquaintance. When she's widowed shortly after the wedding, Delia retires from society to mourn the loss of her husband and what she's sure would have been a grand adventure.

Viscount Anthony St. Stephens goes undercover in Lady Wilmont's home. In the guise of her butler, Tony befriends the lovely Delia, and realizes she knows nothing of her husband's past. As he investigates Wilmont's murder and seeks secret documents, keeping Delia safe is a full-time job. The couple soon finds their growing attraction spinning out of control. Despite family interference, they marry, only to have their love put to the test by secrets revealed and attempted murder.

This is another delightful foray into Regency society with the Effington family. Ms. Alexander is gifted in creating exciting characters and sparkling dialog. The plot has twists and turns, secret identities and an exciting and sensual relationship between Delia and Tony. I can't wait for the next book!

Summary

Identical twins, sensible Delia and mischievous Cassandra Effington were the most delicious debutantes to ever waltz across a London ballroom. They looked alike in every way...but no one ever expected Delia to be the one to get into trouble... How did this young lady's reputation become so questionable? Once she was lovely, respectable Miss Delia Effington, but an impulsive decision -- and subsequent disaster -- forces Delia to retire from society. Until one night, desperate for diversion, she attends a ball as her twin sister and finds herself dancing in the strong arms of the dashing Viscount St. Stephens. Delia believes she has never met this man who arouses her passions, yet he seems somehow familiar. For Delia doesn't know that St. Stephens, an agent for the Crown, has been in her home, protecting her under the disguise of her butler. What will happen when this lady discovers the truth about the man she has come to love?
