"An excellent ancient Egyptian tale!"
I was sent this book ages ago but since I got the
sequel to read for review, figured I'd better read this one
first and I could just kick myself for waiting for so long
to read it! This book was absolutely spell-binding! First of all I simply love anything to do with
ancient Egypt and this book absolutely captured my
attention from the very beginning. This tells the story of
Elizabeth Summers who has talked her uncle into letting her
work at a dig site at Akhetaten even though women weren't
supposed to do such things in 1892. She has an ulterior
motive. She found an ancient papyrus in her grandmother's
things telling of a buried treasure that may help her
grandmother with her onset of tuberculosis. Elizabeth
believes that it is her destiny to find this treasure to
help her grandmother. Jabari bin Tarik Hassid, sheikh of the Khamsin
warriors of the wind has been destined to keep the buried
treasure buried in the desert. These English infidels only
serve to irritate him and his tribe. How can Jabari and his
warriors get rid of them? Jabari decides to infiltrate the
dig site and work there so that he can keep an eye on these
interlopers. He does not count on Elizabeth and her
tenacity. He is very much drawn to her but knows nothing
can come of it. He has a destiny to fulfill. This book simply intrigued me from the minute I
started reading it. I highly recommend finding this book
immediately and delving right in.

SummaryIn the 18th Dynasty of Egypt, there was born a love that
can never be broken—that of a young queen and a great
warrior. And while the warrior's duty to combat the infidel
was strict, and though his beloved was the wife of Pharaoh,
the two would be separated only by death. But then only for
a time.
Elizabeth Summers comes to the dig in 1892. English
archaeologists have made huge advances, and Egypt's
fantastic history is being laid bare. And while Elizabeth
doesn't know whether she is the reincarnation of an ancient
queen, she realizes that in the arms of a great sheikh she
has found her destiny.
