"Lively, fun addition to Mayfair Brides series."
London, 1811: After her brother Woolrich's demise, Lady May
finds a journal listing all of his lady loves, as well as
all of the offspring he produced. Since Wooly was so rich,
he requested that his children be taken care of. Lady May
has decided to track down each child, give them a portion
of the wealth and offer her assistance in their coming-out
in society. First on the list is stuffy old Mrs. Standish's daughter,
Michaela. Michaela has always felt like an outsider, since
she didn't look like her mother or sisters, wondering where
she got her characteristics. Lady May finds Michaela and
sweeps her and her family up, giving Michaela and her two
sisters a season. Michaela is drawn to war-hero Major Adrian Khoury, who
first mistakes Michaela for a Cyprian and corners her in an
out-of-the-way room. She quickly straightens him out about
that misconception and the chase begins. Adrian must have
her. This story is wonderful. With all of Michaela and Adrian's
antics, it's a lively, funny and thoroughly enjoyable read.
I had a hard time putting it down and look forward to the
other books in Ms. Navin's Mayfair Brides series.
