"An Easy and Enjoyable Read"
Sophie Calvert and Ian have had a very short romance and
when Sophie tells Ian that she is pregnant, they have a
quick marriage ceremony. They both feel uncertain of
their feelings for each other but want to do the right
thing. When Sophie overhears Ian tell his best friend
about his reluctance for the wedding, she runs home to
Tennessee, hurt and angry. She hoped that he would try to
make a good marriage with her and now only feels let down
and upset. Ian is a bodyguard going to different parts of the country
on assignment. He is not too sure what kind of a husband
and father he will be because he came from such a non-
loving home. Yes, he wants to do the right thing but he
is also very attracted to Sophie. He follows her to
Tennessee and meets her protective family all the while
apologizing and asking Sophie to forgive him. She is
taking over her grandmother's medical practice running a
home for pregnant women. She finally agrees to live with
Ian (with some provisions) to see if they can make a
successful marriage. THE BRIDE RAN AWAY is the second in a series on the
Calvert Cousins by Anna Adams. There is also a secondary
story regarding her grandmother and husband of forty-four
years. He had retired ten years before but the
grandmother is having a hard time giving up her medical
practice and making time for her husband. Ian is a
wonderful hero that doesn't give up on Sophie's decisions
and tries very hard to bring them together. A few issues
have to be resolved before they can finally learn to trust
each other. THE BRIDE RAN AWAY is an enjoyable read by
Anna Adams to be followed by another book in March about
another Calvert cousin.
