REVIEW

"A powerfully emotional romance that shimmers with a sensuality that will melt your heart"

As a reader, I've read many books over the years. Some leave lasting impressions because they touch the heart, make me cherish the love I am fortunate enough to receive in life and some leave me satisfied with a great love-story that cannot be easily forgotten. Jane Porter's latest Harlequin Presents release, THE LATIN LOVER'S SECRET CHILD, does all of that and much more.

With her usual grace and unique talent, Jane Porter has put forth, for readers who enjoy daring plots and achingly real characters, another beautiful romance that makes us sit up and appreciate all that love and romance have to offer. Ms. Porter's books promise, and provide, her fans with intense emotion that cannot be denied, heart-wrenching angst that cannot be dismissed easily, characters who make you laugh and weep with them, passion that sizzles and leaves you sated, and a romance so sweet with a love that conquers all. A perfect recipe for an outstanding novel.

Ana and Lucio shared a beautiful, brief but passionate past until life tore them apart. Now fate has given them another chance but before they can find their way back to the love that burned like a undeniable flame between them, they must wade through many obstacles and pray their love is strong enough to withstand anything.

THE LATIN LOVER'S SECRET CHILD is a powerful story that deals with a subject which may or may not be everyone's cup of tea, but I for one, found it very easy to surrender my heart to Ana and Lucio.

Ana's pain for the loss she suffered and the feelings that followed, is beautifully portrayed. I could identify with Ana as a woman and her emotions touched my heart. Lucio, though he is an exquiste alpha male, was also made more approachable and vulnerable because of the intensity of his emotions and love for Ana. Ms. Porter, in my opinion, always goes the extra mile, when it comes to her alpha heroes. Her alpha males are domineering, arrogant, strong, proud and everything else that goes into the magical creation of these enigmatic males... but there's so much more to them too. The author has perfected the art of bringing an alpha to his knees, of making him face the love that stares him in the face and boldly defies him to do without it. Jane Porter isn't afraid to put the alpha into a real-life situation and ask him what's more valuable, pride or love? True enough, through the course of the novel, the alpha learns to push pride aside and embrace love. Lucio is special to me for that very reason. His angst is depicted vividly, as he deals with having Ana within reach again but struggles with the possibility of being hurt, of being denied the love he once believed nothing could tear apart. Lucio is a real man and one I won't forget for a long time.

This is just my take on Jane Porter's THE LATIN LOVER'S SECRET CHILD. If I've intrigued you, why don't you pick up a copy of it today and find out if you agree with me?
