"A laugh-out-loud story!"
When her gifted brother, Adam wins a scholarship to a
prestigious school, small-town girl Lavender 'Vinnie' Hart
moves with him to New York City. Her hopes of a better
life are set for a downhill glide when things start to go
wrong right from the beginning. For one thing, she's fired
from her job within the first hour on her first day.
Second, her roommate turns out to be a weirdo who's into
all kinds of icky stuff involving dead animal parts. Talk
about creepy! With no real job skills or training to speak of, Vinnie
settles for what she can get, which, in her case, is a job
as a dog-sitter. Her charge? A Doberman named Daffodil
who has more fashion accessories and outfits than Vinnie's
every owned in her whole life! Vinnie's undeniable
attraction to Daffodil's owner, Nick Wright, doesn't help
the situation much either. For what could a sophisticated
big-city hunk like him possibly see in a small-town girl
like her? Karen Kendall's SOMEONE LIKE HIM promises the reader a
journey full of fun and laughter. This is definitely a
laugh-out-loud kind of story, so try not to read it late at
night or you'll have trouble on your hands. Ms. Kendall has done an excellent job of combining her
wonderful sense of humor with an intense degree of
sensuality that steams the pages even as the reader laughs
her way from scene to scene. There are many precious
moments in SOMEONE LIKE HIM, but in terms of sensuality, my
favorite was the one involving Nick and Vinnie's adventures
with a tray of fruit, and in terms of laughter, nothing
could be more hilarious than the scene where Nick's ex-
girlfriend, Dana Dvorak, and her fur coat meet Daffodil the
Doberman! For a quick, sassy and hilarious story, grab a copy of
SOMEONE LIKE HIM. Karen Kendall takes romantic humor to
new heights. Bravo! Leena Hyat

SummaryShe's Not in Kansas Anymore
Ordinarily, small-town girl Lavender "Vinnie" Hart would
never have come to New York, but her younger brother, a
boarding school student, needs her support. So she finds a
job as live-in "nanny" for a high maintenance pooch and
moves into the luxurious Manhattan penthouse of architect
Nicholas Wright. In a snap, Vinnie's living the high life,
but there's an unexpected snafu: the difficult dog's
gorgeous owner takes Vinnie's breath away!
Nick's too busy with his hectic, success-obsessed life to
deal with the spoiled haute couture canine he inherited.
Now Vinnie, with her sexy exuberance and charming
unpredictability, is becoming an even bigger distraction!
Nick's all Big City stress and sophistication; she's
genuine, warm-hearted country. A relationship could never
work since they have absolutely nothing in commonor
is a girl like her perfect for someone like him?
