"Fun Fast Paced Read"
Greg Rafferty has finally achieved his dream of being
C.E.O. of his family's company Huntington Foods. The
acheievement of his dream has not come without some loss
to the company's image. His brother former C.E.O. has
placed Huntington Foods in a bad position by having a very
public dispute with C.A.S.H.E.W. the "food police". Greg is now in Texas trying to get some help for his
company's public image. His great plan is to get the
woman whose cookies his company sells to do a whirlwind
publicity campaign. What he sees and gets when he lands
in Texas is not at all what he is expecting. The Ms. Carole of Greg's imagination is very akin to Aunt
Bea, or Alice of the old sitcom era. The Ms. Carole he
gets is a vibrant young woman ten years his junior. She
also has a wonderful ten year old daughter. The
attraction between not only Carole and Greg is instant,
but also between Jennifer, Carole's daughter, and Greg as
well. Ms. Chancellor has written a fun book. The townspeople of
Ranger Springs Texas were well written, and not
overpowering of the main characters. There was just
enough talk about Carole's sisters to make me want to read
their stories. I was curious enough to know if they'd
been written, and was delighted to find not only had they,
but they're residing in my TBR pile. This book is a great read for those who just want to
distance themselves from their own realities for
awhile. It's not a sexy read, but one that I thoroughly
enjoyed, and it made me want to aquire the author's back
list because of that enjoyment.
