"Second book in the Wife Lottery series is lively and entertaining."
Sam Gatlin and Sarah Andrews are now married after Sam put
his name in the hat and Sarah drew it out. She said she'd
marry him if he paid her fine, even though he couldn't
imagine anyone wanting him. When Sam first saw Sarah, he
thought an angel had escaped from heaven. Sarah's first husband died of smallpox while they were
traveling west, so she was abandoned by the wagon train.
Her life has been very hard up until now, and she refuses
to lose Sam. So it seems Sarah has to keep patching up her
bounty-hunter husband whenever he gets shot or stabbed,
which is often. This second book in Ms. Thomas' Wife Lottery series stays
lively and entertaining as Sarah gains strength and
confidence in herself, and Sam realizes he no longer has to
be a loner. I loved this story!

she discovers her new groom with a knife in his back.
He just barely survivesand now if Sarah doesn't get
him out of town fast, someone is going to make sure Sam
Gatlin doesn't live long enough to enjoy the honeymoon. No
matter what he may have done, or how many enemies he has,
Sarah feels she owes him. After all, he saved her from a
life in prison. But never in her wildest dreams did she
imagine that this dangerously attractive Texan would steal
her heart and make her want to take the biggest gamble of
all....
