"This one is as enthralling as the first PARADOX"
Adriana by Rosemary Laurey tells the story
of a young girl who saw her whole village destroyed by the
Astrians. She is taken in by two sisters who are witches of
the wood. They teach her their ways and she decides to
serve Rache, the goddess of revenge. For years she
successfully serves Rache but then a different man comes
into her forest. She lets him go but later finds out that
he is going to be executed Can she keep serving Rache and
still save the man she's fallen in love with or will she be
forever trying to exact revenge? Nova by J. C. Wilder is about a woman who
was a slave and who finally bought her freedom. Now she's
trying to gamble just enough to be able to remodel her
grandmother's home, the only home she ever knew and was
happiest there. One of the other gamblers, Evi will stop at
nothing to win. He even gambles his slave because he is
sure he has the winning hand but the problem is he didn't.
Nova wins but when she goes to collect her winnings
including the slave, Evi and his henchmen try to stop her.
She finds out that the slave is in terrible shape and he
also is a merman. Can Nova save him and herself and get
them back to where they belong? These stories are equally as enthralling as the
first PARADOX anthology was. For those who read the first
book, they will realize that Nova is Dani's long lost
sister. Will J. C. Wilder see fit to give then ending to
Dani and Nova's stories? I can only hope against hope that
one of the stories still in her head is this one!
