REVIEW

"Hilariously funny!"

Katie MacAlister's books always have me rolling on the floor howling with laughter. MEN IN KILTS definitely fits this description!

Kathie Williams is in England for a Murder in Manchester conference. She's got serious jet lag and has to be at a cocktail party later in the evening. She signs in and goes to her room to freshen up. When she gets down to the lobby, she sits in a very comfortable chair and nods off. She awakens several hours later when an older woman shakes her and tells her she's drooled all over her blouse. Kathie is mortified but goes back to her room to change yet again.

When Kathie walks into the party, she sees the hunkiest guy she's ever seen and she finds out that he's Scottish and has the most endearing Scottish burr to his voice. She immediately melts into a puddle of goo at his gorgeously large feet. Iain MacLaren is intrigued by this American woman he's just met but isn't sure what to do about it so he asks Kathie out to dinner.

Iain and Kathie spend the rest of the conference together and on the last day Iain asks Kathie if she'd like to go with him to his farm in the Highlands of Scotland. Kathie can't give this hunky man up just yet so she gives him a resounding YES for an answer!

This is just the beginning of this hilariously funny book. The things that happen to Kathie and Iain pale in comparison to what they feel for each other even though Iain, stubborn Scot that he is, refuses to admit his love for Kathie. Still their relationship and Kathie's antics are what kept me reading this book when I should have been doing other things such as work, housework, etc. As always, I eagerly await Katie's next few hundred books!

She crossed the pond and lost her heart...

Summary

What do they wear under those things?

So far, Kathie Williams has made a good showing as the only American at a mystery writers' conference in Manchester— what with that falling asleep in public thing behind her.

The sight of Iain MacLaren wakes her up. Clad in a deliciously woolly sweater, the burly Scotsman seems to be holding up a wall at the cocktail party. So Kathie makes her move...and winds up stark naked with him in bed, where his thick Scottish brogue, thick manly chest, and thick... other parts...drive her to do things she's never done before. Like fall in love.

And if things aren't moving fast enough—and on the wrong side of the road, no less—Kathie is about to visit Iain's sheep farm in the Scottish Highlands and meet his sons. She's feeling a wee bit nervous. Because she can't tell where this mad affair is going—except north...
