REVIEW

"Susan Squires has done it yet again!!"

Susan Squires writes suspense so compelling that readers find themselves gasping for air just because they've simply forgotten to breathe.

Dr. Holland Banks has already disappointed her father, scientist Dr. Leland Banks because she went into psychiatry instead of following in his footsteps. Now as President of the Schizophrenia Research, she feels as if she's taking on the characteristics of her patients. She's hearing voices and is having horrific nightmares about something evil taking over her body. What does this all mean?

Then at a cocktail party at her parents' home where her father is going to announce that she will help him with his research a man crashes the party and tells her he's like she is. When he touches her, blessedly she feels relief from the voices and craziness. Now she's really confused.

When Holland goes into work the next day, she finds out that the man who crashed the party has been admitted to her psychiatric ward. His name is Jeff McQueen and he's an investigative report. Together maybe they can figure out what's going on and how to stop it but at what cost?

Susan Squires' books are generally one sitting reads for me and this one is no exception. Not only does she pour on the suspense but she also manages to add that touch of paranormal to each and every one of her stories. This alone is what compels me to continue reading far longer than I should. As always, I eagerly await her next one!
