"Magic, humor and Scotsmen abound in this time-travel series."
Eight-year-old Robbie MacBain wants to rent out the house
he inherited from his mother. He's hoping to find a wife
for his dad and a mother for himself. Michael MacBain,
Robbie's father, is shocked when Dr. Elizabeth (Libby) Hart
shows up in Pine Creek, Maine, and moves into the house. Libby is a surgeon from California. It seems that after she
prayed over an accident victim, the patient fully recovered
without surgery. She couldn't believe what happened, so she
tested her powers on a child in a coma. After laying her
hands on the boy and concentrating, he awoke, ready to go
home. Now, Libby needs time away to think about all that's
happened. Finding Robbie's house on the Internet, she's
drawn to it. I was captivated within the first few paragraphs of this
story. It's a continuation of the Highlander series
involving two feuding Scottish clans that were mistakenly
transported 800 years forward in time by a Druid priest.
This book combines magic, Scotsmen, Old World charm and
good humor.
