"These two sweet romance reissues stand the test of time"
THE AUSTRALIAN
Priscilla (Priss) Johnson has loved Jonathan (John)
Sterling forever. Ever since her parents moved to
Providence, Australia, she has tried to make John love her.
Overhearing her Dad tell Mother that it could only be
infatuation because John was ten years older then her and
he wouldn't be interested in a child, she then avoided
John. The day before Priss is due to leave for college in
Hawaii, John stops by the house to say good-bye. One kiss
is all it takes before passions start to get out of hand.
John, ever the gentleman, stops just short of making love
to Priss. He feels it would be wrong to compromise her as
she is leaving to go to college for four years. When Priss doesn't go home for Easter, John hops on the
first flight for Hawaii, and proposes to her. Priscilla is
on cloud nine for nearly two weeks before hearing that John
has someone new and he doesn't need or want her. People tell her that she will get over it. But will she?
Soulmates come around once in a lifetime. It's confusing
as why John is blowing hot one moment and cold the next.
Everyone in Providence has heard about the scandal,
everyone but Priss. Will this change how she looks at thing? THE AUSTRALIAN is a reissue of an early work by Ms. Diana
Palmer, but it shows why she is a much sought after
author. While this was first released in 1985, it still
holds up today. At times the sexual tension is hot enough
to make you drink plenty of iced beverages. At other times
you just wish you could hit Priss and John over the head
with a 2x4. It all goes right in the end. The saying
is "nothing is worth having unless you work at it".
Believing Priss has definitely worked at trying to have a
relationship with John. HEART OF ICE Katriane (Kati) James has always rubbed Egan Winthrop the
wrong way. He is very different from his sister Ada, who is
Kati's best friend. Kati writes romance books, and
according to Egan since she writes "those trashy love
scenes" she must have lived them. Nothing could be further
from the truth. Now her best friend has asked her brother Egan to spend
Christmas with them. This is the first year Ada and Egan
have been without their mother, so Kati has resigned
herself to being nice to Egan. Egan thinks Kati must have
slept around in order to compile all that goes into writing
her love scenes. Egan doesn't want Kati corrupting his
sister. Every chance Egan gets he makes some remark about
her lifestyle. What is Kati going to do now that she finds herself in love
with Egan? Egan has said more than once that he has no use
for virgins, and unbeknownst to his that's what Kati is.
What is she going to do when he finds out? HEART OF ICE was originally released in 1985. The insight
that Ms Palmer has of 'sex sells' and a writer is obliged
to include them in their stories hits the mark. Both of these stories are sweet and still stand the test of
time. Sensuality: Sweet Rating: G.
