"Witty and entertaning portrayal of dealing with pregnancy."
Georgina (George) has been in love with Hugh since she was
18, but she's understanding when he marries another woman.
She's also understanding when he admits he made a mistake
by marrying Becca. Unfortunately, Becca isn't being
cooperative about a divorce. For 14 years, George has loved Hugh. Eventually, she
becomes pregnant with his baby, while Hugh is still married
to Becca. George begins to rethink her commitment to Hugh,
and her entire affair with him, after learning of her
pregnancy. This story takes the reader through George's pregnancy with
all its ups and downs. Normally, I don't particularly care
for first-person narratives, but I found Ms. Parks' Larger
Than Life an entertaining read. If you've ever been
pregnant, you can really empathize with all George goes
through, emotionally and physically. If you've never been
pregnant, you'll get a pretty accurate account of what it's
like, including all the people offering unsolicited advice.
I really enjoyed this book!
