"Cute, clever and a light read."
In this continuation of Maggie Kelly's story, she finds
herself in a bind when a publisher turns up dead at a
writers conference. With the help of Lieutenant Steve
Wendell, St. Just and Balder, she sets out to sort through
not only her feelings for Wendell, but how to handle
her creations come to life. To make matters worse, there
are others who aren't out to help Maggie, but to make sure
only they get ahead. The best way to do that is to see
someone really fall. In the meantime, St. Just and Balder
are still trying to adjust to their move from the written
page to the real world and how they fit into Maggie's
life. I've really liked Ms. Michaels' books in the past and never
blink twice when picking one up. However, I'm still not
sure how I feel about this one. The story is cute and
clever, but sometimes a bit too cute and clever. If you're
looking for a light read, this is a good book for you. Of
course, I'll still watch for her books in the future.
