"Nice addition to the Fountain series and the Akora legend."
For four months now, Gavin has been studying the rapid
changes to his beloved home of Akora. The volcano the
island sits upon is showing signs of an eruption. While
taking measurements on the uninhabited island of Deimatos,
Gavin discovers that the lonely island actually has an
occupant - Persephone, a beautiful, self-sufficient woman
with a bow and arrow. After discussing the changes
happening on Deimatos and Akora, Gavin and Persephone head
for Akora to inform everyone of pending disaster. While gathering all the facts, notifying the people and
preparing for evacuation, Gavin and Persephone become
lovers. Yet, each is faced with a dilemma of the heart.
Gavin is being pulled by his duty as the next Earl of
Hawforte, as well as being an Akoran prince and wanting to
stay on his beloved Akora. Persephone, for reasons of her
own, will not discuss her past or her paternity. After the volcanic eruption, Gavin and Persephone go back
to Akora to see what damage has been done. They find the
kingdom still intact and that the damage done elsewhere can
be easily repaired. When Persephone finally tells Gavin all of her secrets and
her vision of him taking his rightful place in Akora, he
asks for her hand. She's shocked that he still wants her
after all her father did to his family. This sequel to FOUNTAIN OF DREAMS is very magical. The
island kingdom of Akora is a special place where men and
women are equal in a time when men dominated. I very much
look forward to Ms. Litton's next book in this series.
