"A laugh a minute book!"
This book was one hilarious madcap adventure after
another. Poor Monique St. Cyr wants to be an investigative
reporter in the worst way and she's stuck writing
obituaries for the local newspaper. Still she's going to do
what she can to get her career on the right track. Monique lives in a duplex next door to her mother
who writes erotic romance and she takes in pets that nobody
wants anymore. Many of them have just a little something
wrong with them. Still she thinks she's happy but it
doesn't stop her from getting in to one scrape after
another. Monique's mother decides to do research on the
Internet for her next novel and somehow drags Monique into
the research of couples meeting online. The next thing
Monique knows is she's being arrested for stiffing a
restaurant for the bill and heaven knows what else. She
also decides to drag her best friend Jeannine into the
messes with her. Then she meets Jake Dube, a policeman who
wants to be more than just friends with Monique but Monique
doesn't want another broken heart. This book had me in stitches from one page to the
next. I have never laughed so hard. Poor Monique just ran
from one misadventure to another without even knowing how
or why. I look forward to reading more books by Diane Amos.
