"Snowbound in Alaska"
Some surprises await Jeffrey Bradshaw while on a trip to
Alaska. He thinks he is looking into a mirror when he sees
Jordan Adamson,
the owner of the small airline, but
thinking no more about it he gets on the small bush plane
to his destination, Arctic Luck. He soon realizes that the
short pilot is really a young woman, a very attractive
young woman. Cyd Thompson is the epitome of a tomboy and a
little rough around the edges; she is proud of being "one
of the guys" as she jockeys passengers around in the small
airplane. Although she finds Jeffrey very attractive, she
figures city slickers are definitely not for her. Jeffrey is a wealthy businessman who is checking into
making a television series in Alaska. He is in a hurry to
accomplish his mission and get back to Los Angeles to meet
with his people, hoping for a promotion. Running into a
storm is not on his agenda so when he gets stuck in a tiny
spot away from Arctic Luck, he is not a happy camper. But
Cyd is surprised to find that he can hold his own with the
rough Alaskans and can give as good as he gets. She calls
him a city slicker but what she doesn't know is that he had
been raised on the streets and is street smart even though
he wears expensive clothes and is obviously a city boy. Cyd does not want Jeffrey making a TV series and changing
her area of Alaska. She thinks of many creative ways to
delay his departure and getting his work done, hoping he
will miss his meeting. Jeffrey finds Cyd intriguing and
special after all the shallow women he has been dating. TOO CLOSE FOR COMFORT is a tale of two people who are
opposites in every way but are drawn to each other.
Jeffrey finds depth in Cyd that he doesn't usually find in
his lady friends and Cyd finds intelligence, affability and
sensuality in Jeffrey. Cyd tries her best to keep him
occupied so that he cannot get any of his work accomplished
as their attraction grows into something more. They soon
discover that they are not so different after all. There
was a possibility that was not fully developed in the
book. I would have enjoyed knowing more about Jordan but
perhaps Ms. Collins has another book in mind for him.
(Note: Jordan is the protagonist-hero in the book TOO CLOSE
TO CALL by Barbara Dunlop) Cyd's Aunt Geri is quite a character, always trying to
throw the young people together wanting her niece to
discover her femininity and the guys at the bar are always
ready for a laugh. You see the beauty of Alaska but also
the inconveniences of living in the last frontier. Colleen
Collins writes a hot story and an appealing read in TOO
CLOSE FOR COMFORT.

SummaryWHEN IT'S THIS CLOSE...
Jeffrey Bradshaw's well-ordered life has just taken a
detour. Instead of being in L.A. making the pitch of his
career, he's stuck in Alaska with a feisty bush pilot.
Seductive, independent Cyd Thompson has him so captivated,
he's not even thinking about his career. All Jeffrey can
focus on is the snow-melting heat he and Cyd create.
He'll let his newly discovered twin handle L.A. until he's
gotten Cyd out of his system.
MAYBE THE ONLY THING TO DO IS GET CLOSER!
Cyd wants Jeffrey...she just doesn't want him here. His
big-city plans are bound to destroy the Alaska she loves.
So she'll do anything she can to distract him from
finalizing his business. And if that means seducing the
guy...well, she'll do that. But she doesn't count on
falling for Jeffrey's intoxicating kisses.
So what else can Cyd do but convince him that in the
Arctic, there's no such thing as getting too close for
comfort?
