REVIEW

"Fast paced read"

Looking For Trouble is the first book in a new miniseries, Invitations To Seduction which is being offered through Harlequin's Blaze Line. In Looking For Trouble author, Julie Elizabeth Leto has set the hook that has me eagerly anticipating the other books in the series.

Rory Carmichael has lived a somewhat sheltered life having been raised by a strict grandmother after she and her twin Micki were abondoned by their mother. Rory has tried hard for 25 years to be everything her mother and twin have not. Now she is ready to make her move, and does this by moving to Chicago. In Chicago she gets a job working for a company called Divine Events. It's while waiting for her interview that her attention is nabbed by a red leather book entitled Sexcapades.

As she awaits her interview she notices women "borrowing" pages of the book. She just wants to look, but ends up with not one but two of the Sexcapades adventures.

Luckily for Rory her new landlord is Alec Manning. Alec is also trying to make up for his past. Alec has a playboy image that he is trying hard to shake, and to that effort he has sworn off women. He throws himself into trying to redeem his professional career. His lack of wanting a relationship makes him perfect for Rory and her Sexcapades adventures.

Rory and Alec learn a lot about life through this short book. I believe that Alec did a lot of growing, and exploring of his past and present actions more so than Rory did. Would he have acheived his growth without Rory...I believe not. Howver Rory has managed to reconcile her past with the path she wishes to embark on in the future. I don't think she would have managed without Alec's guidance along the way.

This book is a Blaze, and it's the first Blaze I've read. While it was hotter than my normal reads it wasn't as hot as I thought the Blaze line was. I truly enjoyed the story, and am glad that Ms. Leto is planning a follow-up book.
