"Wonderful blend of passion and suspense."
Kait London and her sister, Lana, have been estranged for
years when out of the blue, Kait gets a phone call from her
wayward twin. Lana is in danger - her life and the life of
her four-year-old daughter, Marni, have been threatened. If
Kait will trade places with her for a weekend, Lana would
be able to straighten out her problems. Kait had always
regretted their estrangement and agrees to step into Lana's
life. Things start to go wrong from the beginning. Kait's purse
is stolen, people treat her with barely concealed dislike
and Lana's husband, Trevor Coleman, serves her with divorce
papers almost as soon as she walks through the doorway. Trevor isn't sure what to think of the woman he's come to
despise. Gone is the selfish manipulator who's distant with
him and his daughters. In her place is someone who appears
kind, caring and generous, someone who's now acting like
she wants to continue a marriage that ended every way but
legally a long time ago. Lana has always been a master game
player, so he isn't sure what game she's playing now. Kait soon learns there are a lot of things Lana neglected
to tell her about her life. She's devastated to learn Lana
had been cheating on Trevor almost from the beginning of
their relationship, she has little interest in her daughter
and step-daughter, and she is a thief. One thing she didn't
lie about becomes apparent shortly after Kait's arrival in
Virginia: someone is trying to kill Lana. DOUBLE TAKE is a well-written blend of suspense and
romance. Joyce has created a fantastic tale of passion and
intrigue with lots of twists and turns to keep the reader
guessing up until the final chapter. This was one I
couldn't put down!

From New York Times bestselling author Brenda Joyce comes
an alluring novel of a woman's dangerous quest to protect
her twin sisterand the secrets, lies, and deceptions
that threaten them both. . . .
SummaryKait London has been estranged from her twin sister for
years. She has never understood why and has always
regretted it. When her phone rings in the middle of the
night, Kait learns that Lana desperately needs her help.
All Kait has to do is take her place, for two days, at her
home in the horse country of Virginia. If Kait can play
this role convincingly, she will save Lana's life.
This is a game the twins have played before. But never
like this. For the charade is much more difficult to pull
off than when they were children. Lana has many secrets,
secrets she has kept from everyone, including
Kaitand she has as many enemiesincluding her
own husband. Kait had not been expecting Trev Coleman to
be in residence. Worse, she is soon forced to recognize
how darkly seductive he isand that he may very well
be her worst enemy.
And then Kait realizes that she is directly in the line of
fire. Someone is deliberately stalking Lana, but Kait is
the trapped prey.
