"First book in new Fountain trilogy, again featuring Akora, is suspenseful and romantic."
Niels Wolfson, known as Wolf, and his brother, Lancelot,
known as Shadow, are sent to England by President Van Buren
to find the person responsible for the explosion of an
American warship. What little information they have points
to a member of the Akora family. The brothers plan to
kidnap Princess Amelia so Niels can later rescue her, then
return her to her family unharmed, thus gaining access to
the family and the information they seek. Trying desperately to keep his mind on the mission, Niels
soon discovers that lovely Amelia intrigues him, filling a
void in his life he didn't realize was there. Amelia's
insight of the heart knows Niels is a good man, but she
also knows he's keeping something from her. When Shadow is
fatally wounded, Amelia discovers her meeting with Niels
was not an accident, who the brothers truly are, and why
they're here. After the unpleasant events that take Amelia back to Akora,
Niels decides to go after her and make her his wife. But to
get to her could very well get him killed, a risk he's more
than willing to take. This first book in Ms. Litton's new Fountain trilogy is an
excellent story of mystery, suspense and romance. The need
the characters find in each other is very touching.
