REVIEW

"The Haunt Return"

It all started with her grandmother's rambling, single- sided phone call. Somehow, gossip becomes seriousness and Andrea finds that she's agreed to a trip she cannot possibly make. A week later Andrea finds herself in the Alaska, staring at the imposing mansion that her grandmother is caretaker of. The reunion isn't easy -- her grandmother has some nasty news -- but then things get worse. Andrea wakes up the next morning to find that she's been ditched while her granny heads out on a cruise! Then the house's owner returns, and she's really stuck!

They call him Mathin the Mad. Wild and powerful, he has accompanied his companion to the world of their race's birth. When he meets Andrea he knows instantly that he is lost. The woman is of the sylph, a human mutation whose scent alone can enrapture and enchant those of the Haunt -- like he is. She entrances him, and not just because of her mutation. He determines that he will have her.

Danger is lurking, however, waiting to capture Andrea and twist her to an evil purpose. Mathin takes her away for her own protection, leading her through the hidden portal and into his world, a world that she could never have dreamed existed. The danger isn't over yet, though, and as Andrea tries to cope with a reality she has never experienced the tenuous balance between those who live beyond the portal is shaken. Andrea finds herself stretched between two worlds, a bridge between human and Haunt, between past and present. All she has to do is survive...

SOMETHING WILD THIS WAY COMES is the sequel to Ms. Dawn's much-talked-about TEASING DANGER. The Haunt and their world return in this fast, compelling romance. Though a sequel, the story is perfectly readable on its own. The characters are smart and the world-building is excellent. Fantasy and romance meld together nicely, and the myths and legends of the Haunt capture attention and feel familiar at the same time. On the romance side, Ms. Dawn is excellent at depicting the small, touching scenes that build a relationship between lovers. Fantasy romance lovers are sure to enjoy this adventure, and with any luck Ms. Dawn is planning yet another journey with the Haunt.

This book has been rated Sensual by the publisher.

Swept away to another world by a man almost too hot to handle, she can't decide if it's a dream come true or someone's idea of a sick joke. Romanced by the light of the triple moons, entranced by Mathin's fiery kisses, will Andrea give up her home on Earth in exchange for -- Something wild!
