"This book is a must read!"
This book chilled me down to the very marrow of my
bones. It was so intense that I had to take a breather
between chapters but it didn't stop me from reading this
book in record time. Maggie Barnes has strong empathetic tendencies.
She uses those gifts in a most unique way. She is a sketch
artist for the police in Seattle. Her powers keep getting
stronger the more she uses them. Now she's up against the
most evil thing she's ever taken on. A horrible monster is
kidnapping woman, raping and brutally beating them and then
taking their eyes. Maggie thinks it's up to her to atone
for her sins from the past and catch this evil incarnate. John Garrett's sister was one of this madman's
victims only she hadn't died from the attack. She
committed suicide while she was recuperating. John thinks
this is strange because his sister, Christina had a strong
will to live. When he unofficially gets involved in the
case he meets Maggie and knows she's 'different' from the
rest. He calls in his psychic friend, Quentin, to evaluate
the situation. What they find is more horrible than anyone
could ever imagine. I wholeheartedly recommend this most compelling
novel. Kay Hooper is a master at painting the most vivid
pictures with words! I do recommend reading this book in
the daytime with lots of people around. I eagerly await
the next book in the series!
