REVIEW

"Protection quest leads to love for the protector"

***** Excellent! I can't begin to explain how very much I enjoyed this most different Paranormal Romance. I had a hard time putting it down in order to do such menial things as clean house, cook, go to work, etc.

Gryphon O'Connor is not what he seemed thanks to his meddling parents before his birth. His parents, James and Gwyneth O'Conner, were Druids and they cast a spell to protect Gryph before he was born. Unfortunately they did not know what they were doing and this resulted in Gryph randomly turning in to a mythical creature called a Gryphon. Luckily Shayla Gallagher, Sorceress of the Ancients, was able to make a pact with the O'Connors. Gryphon would do her bidding and help to protect the Ancients. In return, Shayla would allow Gryphon to be able to control when he would change into a Gryphon.

Shayla now has a very dangerous mission for Gryph. Someone has stolen three very powerful Rune Stones of Tuatha De' Danann. Once the stones are translated and a person holds all three stones while chanting what they mean, the person will transform into a beast reflecting the soul, whether it is evil or good. If these stones fall into the wrong hands, a most horrid beast will be let loose on the unsuspecting.

Heather Green works for Dr. McPherson. Dr. McPherson and Niall Alexander are the ones who go and collect the artifacts from archeological digs. Heather catalogues the artifacts as they come to the museum. She specializes in Celtic artifacts.

When Gryph arrives in New York, he seeks out the museum where Dr. McPherson works and discovers Heather there. He follows her home to try to get information from her. He discovers she doesn't know anything but may be willing to help Neither Gryph nor Heather realizes how complicated this quest will be and what they will have to do before it has been satisfactorily completed.

I was thoroughly pulled in by this story and it had a most satisfactory ending. This book is highly recommended and I look forward to reading more of Candice Sams' books.
