REVIEW

"Another yummy djinn book!"

Zayne is the Minstrel of Kaf but lately his music is creating discord on Kaf and he can't figure out why but decides it is because he needs a zani, the equivalent of wife on Terra or Earth. He performs a ritual of divination to try to figure out who his zani is supposed to be and is very surprised to find it is a woman from Terra named Madeline Fairbanks. His mother always hated Terra and everything about it and warned Zayne numerous times about anything to do with it.

Zayne feels he has no choice so he decides to contact Tildy Maehara, the Terran woman who is related to Isis, the zaniya to Darius, the Protector of Ma-at or magic. (See MORE THAN MAGIC). Tildy invites Madeline to stay in her house while she goes away on an extended trip and tells her that there will also be another visitor at the house as well.

Madeline hates magic. Her stepfather uses magic and Madeline thinks it made her mother go insane. She now resides in an institution and when she sees Madeline she always has setbacks. This devastates Madeline but until she can figure out what needs to be done, her mother has to stay there.

When Madeline meets Zayne, she's very attracted to him but then he tells her a wild story about being a djinn from Kaf and she thinks he's a bit loony himself. How can Zayne convince Madeline that he needs her to restore the balance of his music and the harmony of Kaf? Can Madeline convince Zayne to help her find her stepfather and what is in store for them when they finally do find him?

This book was a one sitting read for me as are all of Kathleen Nance's books. I eagerly await each and every one. It is my fervent hope that there will be many more djinn books in the future!

Summary

As the Minstrel of Kaf, Zayne kept the land of the djinn in harmony. Yet lately, raging desires and unquenchable yearnings were throwing his life into discord and wreaking havoc on his home. He needed a woman to restore balance to his life, a woman with whom he could blend his voice and his body. And according to his destiny, this soul mate could only be found in the strange land of Earth.

Madeline knew to expect a guest while house-sitting for her eccentric neighbor. However, she hadn't expected the man would be so sexy, so potent, so fascinated by the doorbell. Zayne may have been a disaster with modern amenities, but he certainly knew what made her tick. With one soul- stirring kiss, she saw colorful sparks dancing on the air. But Madeline wanted to make sure her handsome djinni wouldn't pull a disappearing act before she could allow herself to become utterly . . . Spellbound.
