"Very believable werewolf culture and world"
On the Ripple Creek werewolf reservation, different packs
live in same area. The Golden pack is very traditional,
with high morals that prevent mating until the true soul
mate is found. Whereas the Silver pack are into free mating
and hold wild parties at the Sinclair mansion the week
before the full moon. This year things were different -- a
killer is on the loose. So far three women are dead and a
fourth -- Neva Grant's twin sister -- lies in the hospital
fighting for her life. Because of being psychicly linked to her sister, Neva was
able to use her powers to stop the attacker from killing
her. Now she vows to hunt down the killer. After going over
her sister's notes, Neva decides that she will infiltrate
the Sinclair mansion where all the murders had occurred.
The only Sinclair not under suspicion was Duncan, the
wildest of the bunch. She is able to seduce Duncan, but
under the moon and with magic he claims her for the week. Duncan had been called home by the family to track down the
killer before it happens again; the evidence points to
member of his own pack. He suspected that Neva had been
sent to spy and report back to killer. Even though he can't
resist her he is determined to break her, so she will tell
him the name of the killer. The attacks continue and it gets hard to tell who the
killer is. Will they be able to stop the killer? Will
Duncan and Neva ever trust each other? Keri Arthur creates a very believable world of the
werewolf. The cultures, the way they policed each other,
the issue of birth control, all work to make this a great
paranormal book. BENEATH A RISING MOON captured my
attention from the first page. I was immediately sucked
into the werewolf culture. Neva is a strong-willed woman
with psychic powers but she still can't resist the powers
of Duncan. Duncan as an alpha bad boy is the perfect foil
for Neva. I will be looking for more of Ms. Arthur's books.
If the paranormal interests you at all, this is the book
for you. It's outstanding. Sensuality : explicit sex.
