"Really great suspense!"
Ashley Marin's 15-year-old daughter, Lauren, has been
kidnapped by the son of the man who kidnapped Ashley when
she was a teenager. Ashley calls Chris Judge, retired
policeman, to help find her daughter. A man from her past, Chris is the one who rescued Ashley
from her kidnapper when the local police and FBI had given
up. When she calls Chris, he's just about ready to end his
life, but he cannot ignore Ashley's plea. The kidnapper
said to not call the police, but when Ashley's ex-husband,
Robert, finds out, he wants the police and FBI involved.
Ashley gets Robert to agree to give Chris a few days before
they call in the authorities. Ashley and Chris start
building a new relationship as they hunt for clues to where
her daughter is being kept. This story is really good! The beginning was a bit slow,
but once I got into it, WOW, it took off and really kept me
in suspense.

IN THE COLD by Lynn Erickson is a rousing suspense
with a wicked twist in the end. The fast-paced book finds
the Aspen born heroine reliving a nightmare abduction she
suffered 20 years before--and for the second time she must
call on a stranger to save her, an ex-cop with a dark past
and a terrible secret. As much as she yearns for him, her
desire may be blinding her to the truth--he's going to get
them all killed.
SummaryAs a young girl, Ashley Marin was kidnapped and held for
months in an abandoned mine, high in the Colorado Rockies.
Now, twenty years later, she must relive her worst
nightmare... Because her tormentor has been paroled. And
Ashley's fifteen-year-old daughter, Lauren, is missing.
Chris Judge was there the night Ashley was rescued. That
event changed his life and was the reason he became a
police officer. Now, he's retired, divorced, and
disillusioned, but he has never forgotten Ashley. And now,
she needs his help more than ever. As they desperately
search for her daughter, every step closer leads back to
the past. And only one thing is certain...somewhere deep
in the cold, the kidnapper is ready and waiting.
