REVIEW

"Incredible follow-up to HeartMate - a keeper!"

On Celta, a world where psi power is taken for granted, Ruis Elder is shunned as a null. Eventually convicted for a string of thefts, he's banished from Druida City. Instead of leaving, Ruis and his fam (cat), Samba, take refuge in the only whole spaceship left in Druida, Nuada's Sword. Although he knows discovery will mean execution, Ruis chances staying near the city and his lover, Ailim SilverFir.

Ailim is sure Ruis was unlawfully robbed of his inheritance as Lord of his GreatHouse. She will stop at nothing to prove it and return the estate to him. Meanwhile, powerful enemies from both families plot to keep the GreatHouse from changing hands, even if they must kill to do so.

HEART THIEF is an incredible follow-up to Ms. Owens' debut novel, HeartMate. She's created a world readers have gone crazy for, peopled with characters, both human and fams, we've fallen in love with. I've never had a copy of HeartMate returned to the store for trade in the year it's been out, quite a testament to its "keeper" quality.

Summary

Ruis Elder never asked for his unusual trait - the ability to neutalize other's psychic talents. Because of it, he has always been hated in his own homeland, destined to roam the harsh planet alone. But trouble finds him in front of the ruling Council - and face-to-face with the most beautiful woman he has ever seen. There's only one problem: Ailim is on the opposite side of the bench...

Ailim has never before felt such passion coursing through her as she feels in Ruis's presence. And she never thought she would - at least not with a man so far beneath her station, a man who does not even have psychic powers. But even on the planet Celta, love is blind to such details. Separately, Ailim and Ruis must forgo their old lives. But together the can take on the world...
