REVIEW

"Excellent historical from start to finish"

At seven years old Teressa Bryant was traveling in a stagecoach when she was taken from her parents. She was kidnapped by the Sioux Indians and raised as a much loved daughter of an Indian couple.

Now, ten years later, Teressa is Winter Rain and a girl on the verge of womanhood. She is close to accepting a proposal of marriage from Strong Elk, a tribal warrior. However, her life is turned upside down when a handsome half breed shows up in her camp.

Half Sioux and half white, Chance McCloud has been hired by Teressa's distraught parents to find her and bring her home. With one foot in both the Indian and the white world he is the Bryant's best chance of locating their long lost daughter.

Luck is with him as he finds Teressa in the same camp as his own family. Unfortunately, it is not going to be an easy task. Winter Rain has no memory of her previous life before the Sioux. Wolf Shadow, as Chance is known to the Indians, must somehow convince her to leave with him. Drawing on the fact that there is a mutual physical attaction between he and Winter Rain, he is going to try to use that as a persuasion.

But, when the attraction turns into something more, Chance doesn't think he can let her go. She has begun to mean more to him than he can admit to himself. However, he has some issues in his past that he can't let go and won't until he can avenge his mother's senseless death. Teressa too, has deep feelings for Chance but she needs to reunite with her parents and knows that they will never accept her with a half breed.

Personal hardships and predjudice are some of the obstacles that Chance and Teressa must face. However, they both have the courage and grit that it takes to make peace in their lives.

WOLF SHADOW is packed with adventure, strong characters and a heartfelt love story. Madeline Baker takes her readers back in time and gives them yet another fantasic read.
