"Sexy Cajun Hero"
Regan Hart is a tough, hard-working Los Angeles homicide
detective, dedicated to her job. When too-good-looking
Nate Callahan comes to town with his lazy smile, Regan
shies away from him thinking him too handsome and a little
too charming. Nate comes from a small town, Blue Bayou, in
Louisiana and when he comes across some information
concerning Regan, he decides to look her up. He informs
her that her mother died thirty-one years ago in Blue Bayou
under mysterious circumstances and that her aunt raised
her. Could the woman she called mother really have been
her aunt, the twin sister of the woman that died? Nate
gives her some stock certificates worth a small fortune as
well as a journal written by Linda Dale. She reads the
journal and is not convinced until the last paragraph that
tells about her favorite childhood toy. She takes a leave
of absence and goes to Blue Bayou. A young boy hitchhikes down a deserted road and is picked
up by a truck driver. As they drive into town, there is an
accident leaving the truck teetering over the water with
downed power lines sizzling overhead. Regan and Nate rush
to their aid risking their lives to save the two. Nate
takes the tough fourteen-year-old under his wing. Nate and Regan work together to find out what really
happened to Linda Dale and if, in fact, she is really
Regan's biological mother. As they follow clues, Regan
meets the wonderful Callahan family and draws closer to the
last bachelor in the family, the handsome and good-natured
Nate. Regan is a little hard to warm up to because she is not
willing to be vulnerable so comes across as very cool but
Nate, her counterpart, is warm and caring. What is more
interesting and sexy than a Cajun man with charm up to his
eyeballs? All of the Callahan family (from previous books
by this author) show up to help the romance along and
there is a certain telephone call that sizzles between the
protagonists. The suspense takes second place to the hot
romance in MAGNOLIA MOON as Regan finds that living in a
small southern town isn't so bad after all. If you enjoy
those good looking Cajun men, you won't want to miss
reading about this one.
