"Cowboys: Got To Love Them"
Widowed rancher Wade Darland is often times perplexed by
Tess Vega's way of thinking and her actions. He believes
after an animal has reached his or her prime it time to go
to auction, whereas Tess owns and operates a sanctuary for
abused and abandoned horses. Wade is also a meat and
potatoes kind-of-guy, Tess is an avid vegetarian and just
the mere thought of meat makes her want to turn and run. Don't even get the two started on Wade's two children
Jason and Macy. Tess feels a strong connection to Macy due
her own motherless childhood, something that Wade resents.
After Wade and Tess get to know one another, Wade begins to
wonder if this cowgirl will say yes not just to his
children but him as well. Brenda Mott has penned a wonderful novel about finding love
and strength with another person. Tess was a great
heroine. She was fearless and very spunky and enjoyed
getting a rise out of Wade as the two often disagree, but
when the two come together it's a great combination. After
Wade's wife Deidra was killed he vowed never to let another
woman come between him and his children. I thought it was
very refreshing how he cared deeply for them. The
secondary characters are great. We get to hear from Macy
and Jason as well as Tess's family and some of the
townspeople. This is a book that you can curl up in your
covers and read.
