"The sizzling second book in the Sexy City Nights series!"
I highly approve of the new Harlequin Blaze books, and most
especially the Sexy City Nights series. BODY HEAT is Carly
Phillips addition to this sizzling series. Jake Lowell has been coming to an outdoor café to
meet his sister, Rina, for weeks now and he's been
fantasizing about this one waitress there. As he walks
inside, he sees the woman of his dreams leaning against the
bar with a bottle of water in her hands. As he watches she
rolls the cold bottle against her forehead and her cheeks.
When she notices that Jake is watching her, her eyes widen
with surprise. Little do Jake and Brianna Nelson know that Jake's
sister, Rina decides to take matters into her own hands.
By
the time she's finished, they won't know what hit them!
Brianna is a waitress by night but is a Physical Therapist
by day. Jake is a detective on leave because he's been
shot. Rina does a little conniving and convinces Brianna
that her brother needs a private physical therapist. Rina
goes on a little jaunt to Italy and during that interim
moves Jake and Brianna into her penthouse apartment until
she gets back. The sexual tension between the two ignites
the instant they shake hands for the first time. What Jake doesn't know is that Louis Ramirez, the
drug dealing scum who shot Jake and killed his partner,
then walked on a technicality, is doing his best to get
back at Jake. He'll use whatever and who ever he can. Can
Jake get to him first? That remains to be seen. This book sizzled. I had a hard time putting it
down once I started reading it. I thoroughly enjoyed it and
look forward to more of the Sexy City Nights series from
Harlequin Blaze.
