REVIEW

"This one fairly sizzles!"

Jackie Brady dreams of composing children's music but in the meantime, she sings telegrams for Zing-O-Gram. She has also sent a demo tape to Station WBCI to do voice- overs.

Right now she's on her way to a birthday party in a very tight cat suit to sing happy birthday to six-year-old Gregory. The problem there is that Zing-O-Gram sent her to the wrong place. Gregory is the right name but it's the wrong Gregory. This Gregory had hired a stripper to sing for his brother's bachelor party. As Jackie sings, her suit is stretched farther and farther until it bursts apart and she's horrified. She's even more horrified when she realizes these men want more.

Greg grabs a tablecloth and throws it over half nude Jackie over the disappointed catcalls of the guys. He leads Jackie to an empty hallway where she explains the mix- up. He tells her that he'll take her home and he gives her one of his cards. She knew that Gregory De Costa sounds familiar but when she realizes that he is whom she sent her demo tape to, she knows that her career is ruined. There's absolutely no way that he'll ever even listen to her tape now. How will she ever be able to salvage this situation?

This book fairly sizzled from first meeting to last. Gregory had pulled himself up by his bootstraps to get where he was today. Jackie had always marched to a different drummer due to her genius parents who wanted her to fit the mold. There's no way these two would ever work together but does that stop them? Therein lies the fabulous story that unfolds page by page. I know it was a one sitting read for me. I simply zip through each and every one of Joanne Rock's books and eagerly wait for more of the same!
