REVIEW

"Intense tales of love and lust; of gods, goddesses and mortals."

Immortal Heat by Lanette Curington
Rated: Soft R

Aglaia is sent on a mission of love by Aphrodite, never imagining that it would lead to he being bound and tossed off a cliff into the ocean. Swept ashore, she is found by Aphrodite's ex-husband Hephaestus, who cares for her until she regains consciousness.

While waiting for her body to heal, Aglaia finds herself wondering why Aphrodite let Hephaestus go. Here was the prefect god: sensitive, caring, willing to listen, gentle, and gifted with making things of metal. Despite his physical imperfections, he was all she could ever want.

As the days go by, Hephaestus shows such tender attention to Aglaia that she can't help but fall in love. Almost as if Aphrodite herself has planned it that way.

Dancing With Dionysus by Joanna Wylde
Rated: NC-17

When Kalliara is forced to be out of her home during the festival of Dionysus, she is tortured by Nymphs, almost raped by Satyrs, nearly torn apart by Maenads, and ends up choosing to jump off of a cliff and be true to her goddess rather than face death by Dionysus.

But Dionysus has other plans for her, and brings her back from the dead and gifts her to his son Sabiniano. Thinking that his son would force Kalliara to admit her sexuality (thus robbing Athena of her virgin follower), Dionysus never planned for Sabiniano falling in love with Kalliara.

Enraged at the interference of Athena and now Aphrodite, Dionysus bargains with the goddess of love over the fate of Sabiniano and Kalliara, and neither intends to loose.

~ * ~
Both Joanna and Lanette have woven intense tales of love and lust; of gods, goddesses and mortals. While the two tales are as opposite as day and night, the character have the same things going for them: none expected to find love, all fight it, and all eventually come to the conclusion that you can't fight the heart's demands.

In the end, they all give in the APHRODITE'S TOUCH.

Summary

Dancing With Dionysus by Joanna Wylde: Once a year, the island of Naxos celebrates the Festival of Dionysus. For an entire month, nymphs, satyrs and Maenads run wild while wise humans stay locked in their homes, praying for mercy. On the eve of the festival, a young weaver catches the eye of Sabiniano, ruler of the island and son of Dionsysus. Her name is Kalliara, and together they will learn what it means to defy a god.

Immortal Heat by Lanette Curington: A goddess in peril...a god in exile... Aglaia has been sent on a mission to right a love gone wrong. Hephaestus has exiled himself to the caverns, away from his ex-wife and the humiliation he suffered from her infidelity. Only the lusty body and untamed spirit of Aglaia can mend his broken heart.
