"This sequel to Falling Home is poignant look at Southern life."
Suzanne Paris, on the run from an abusive ex-fiancé, stops
in Walton, Georgia, on a whim. Little does she know that
Joe Warner, the town mayor and a widower with six children,
will make her want to stop running. But her past begins to
catch up with her and Suzanne has to face her mistakes,
both past and present, in order to give their future a
chance. Ms. White has given us a poignant look at life in a small
Southern community. Steeped in tradition and gentility,
Walton is as quaint and charming as ever. I really liked
how the children work their way into the heroine's heart,
seemingly without her notice. This sequel to Ms. White's
Falling Home is a delightfully good read.
