REVIEW

"Wonderful romantic suspense with a psychic twist."

Genny Madoc's "sixth sense" endears her to some and scares others. Neither of these is what has drawn a sadistic killer to the small town of Cherokee Pointe, Tennessee. While Genny "sees" the killing of several other women in the small town in which she lives, their killer grows closer in his final goal of having her as his fifth victim.

While the FBI hasn't been called in on the case that closely resembles killings occurring in other states, Special Agent Dallas Sloan is in town to track the killer of his niece. Genny realizes that danger is around her, but her vision of the man who'll save her adds to the hope that evil will not win this round.

The killer is angered by Sloan coming to town and taking Genny's attention away from his efforts. But he waits silently, knowing if he's careful, the circle will be completed. This time, the fifth victim will be the crowning achievement of his years of searching for her.

While this is a somewhat different angle for Ms. Barton, taking the psychic approach, she's not totally new to it. Her first book in the Protectors series, The Outcast (SIM 614), had a similar vein. But even with the hints of that book, this fourth single-title release for her is well- worth your money and time. It's very well-written and suspenseful and has such great detail and life to it that I could not put it down until I finished. This is a must-read for Barton fans and anyone who enjoys romantic suspense.
