"Fast paced, engaging and full of intrigue"
Sam Logan, a well known defense attorney wanted his
daughter, Blair, to work for his firm but she declined due
to their differing points of view on the law. Assistant
District Attorney Blair Logan believes firmly in getting
criminals off the street and doesn't appreciate the fact
that defense attorneys often help criminals get off the
hook rather than face what's coming to them. That's one of
the reasons she doesn't particularly like Lucas Culver, one
of the best, sharp-witted defense attorneys she's met. The
fact that he has a terrific track record to win difficult
cases, and capture the hearts of women, does little to
impress Blair. However, when her twin brother, Blake, is
accused of murder, Blair must put her personal opinions
aside. Despite all the odds and some very incriminating evidence
against him, Blair is convinced Blake is innocent. She
also knows he's going to need the best defense attorney to
help him out of this mess and that leads her to Lucas
Culver's doorstep. Lucas is Blake's only hope. If anyone
can help - Lucas can. However, she doesn't find it so easy
to convince Lucas to take the case. Blair has never hidden
the scorn she feels for him - or rather for what he does -
so why would he want all the trouble his case will no doubt
involve? Moreover, while she struggles to help save her
brother, how can Blair continue to resist the powerful
attraction between Lucas and herself? Will she end up
losing her heart to Lucas only to have it broken in the end? Linda Warren's STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART is a powerful and
emotional novel that will definitely touch your soul.
Rich, warm and emotional characters like those created by
Ms. Warren are a pleasure to meet. The story is fast-
paced, full of intrigue and beautifully written. The
dialogue was true to the characters and very engaging. The
slew of secondary characters adds depth to the tale and
helps move it along seamlessly. STRAIGHT FROM THE HEART by Linda Warren is an excellent
novel and I highly recommend it to readers who love romance
that pack an emotional punch.
