REVIEW

"Adam and Desiree!!!"

ABOUT ADAM by Stella Cameron is the latest of her popular Mayfair Square series. ABOUT ADAM gives us the much anticipated story of Adam Chillworth and Princess Desiree. Fans who have been waiting will know that the wait was worth it.

Returning to Mayfair after being away nursing a broken heart, Princess Desiree now has a plan and she needs her friends to help her show Adam that she is no longer a child.

Adam Chillworth is in love with Princess Desiree, but knows that there can never be a pairing due to the differences he sees as impossible to ignore. He also knows that Desiree's brother Jean Marc will not accept such a union, but Desiree is not to be ignored.

Spivey, of course, will not let such a little thing as Adam's principles get in the way now that he almost has accomplished his goal, that of ridding the 7 Mayfair of its lodgers. He has come up with a brilliant plan to send Adam and Desiree on their way to wedded bliss and give the house a much more respectable image.

Stella Cameron is one of the few historical authors that I read. I love her strong heroines and the heroes who love them as well. ABOUT ADAM is wonderful because we get to re-visit with past favorites Meg, Jean Marc, Finch, Ross and of course Latimer and Jenny. Then of course there are the funny comments made by Spivey throughout the book. He makes me crack up everytime.

ABOUT ADAM is easily my favorite of the Mayfair Series, mainly I think because I have been waiting for Adam to cave in. I certainly wasn't disappointed. In fact, I feel the need to re-read it at once.

I know you will love ABOUT ADAM as much as I did and get it fast because you don't want to be sitting in the bookstore aisle looking at the empty spot where ABOUT ADAM is supposed to be.

Summary

Adam Chillworth is a hard man. The mysterious and talented artist of 7C Mayfair Square is deeply in love with Princess Desirée, but he refuses her obvious ardor for him. After all, he's too old for her and only a commoner.

Desirée will not demurely accept his decision. She'll show him how mature she's become and that what she feels is no childish infatuation. What a pity she can't be with him without imagining passionate encounters and making puzzling remarks . . .

While audacious Desirée is pursuing her Plan, ruthless enemies from Adam's secret past are closing in, placing them both in desperate peril. As he fights with cool and deadly skill, Desirée discovers that Adam Chillworth is a dangerous man. Dangerous to hate--and to love.
