REVIEW

"Sometimes good things *can* come from bad!"

Aden Locke is a smuggler. He had accepted a contract to run contraband and got caught -- not because he was losing his edge, but because an old enemy, Gandes, interfered. Now he's desperate to get off this world he's stranded on, in time to stop Gandes from taking the revenge he promised on Aden's friends.

After eradicating her work of the last ten years, Dr. Kerra Telsier needs to get off-world -- now. Her work is gone, but the powers that be want it back and the only way to get it is to get her. She needs a fencejumper -- a pilot for hire, one who operates outside the law. And so she hires Captain Aden Locke. He looks more like the villain than the hero from the holovids she enjoys, but she doesn't have any other choice, and neither does he.

Even at the speeds now traveled, it takes time to get places. The time spent getting to Aden's home base of Beckhaven allows him and Kerra to get to know one another. Once they reach Beckhaven, the relationship develops intimately. However, Gandes is still out there, biding his time, and as cruel and insane as he is, he is also patient...

INTO THE FIRE is a spectacular, exciting, fast moving science fiction story with a excellent romance included. It has a remarkably involved plot that keeps you on the edge of your seat. I enjoyed the fact that the author didn't try to create a universe with new rules. I've read a lot of science fiction and this story made me feel like I was once again visiting a familiar place. Familiar, yes, but with unique characters and locations. I liked the hero and heroine a lot. I particularly liked the respect they showed for one another. I loved the secondary characters who peopled this universe, especially the ones the hero and heroine have close contact with. They are so real and so interesting, I felt I would not be surprised to meet them one day. I wanted to hurry and finish this tale and yet was sorry when it was over. I recommend this for anyone who enjoys a good science fiction romance with swashbuckling excitement as an added dividend.

Sensuality--Soft R: Expressive sex (hot, but with fairly non-descriptive language. Sexually explicit scenes: 3.
