REVIEW

"A poignant second chance story!"

The poignancy of this book was just heart wrenching, but it only added to my reading enjoyment.

Annette Trevetti left her fiancé at the altar after his noticeably pregnant ex-girlfriend interrupted their wedding stating that the baby she carried was his. Steve Corbett couldn't believe that Annette, the woman he loved, didn't trust him enough for him to tell her his side of the story. Not only that, she left her engagement ring behind as she fled.

It is now seven years later. Annette and her partner have decided to sell their business for an ungodly amount of money and she's now at a crossroads as to what to do next. Then her brother Max falls at a construction site, cutting his head and breaking his wrist. His secretary has just gone on her month long honeymoon so there's nothing for Annette to do but go take care of Max and his business.

At first Annette is a bit uncomfortable around town because she was always the poor child whose father left his family and whose mother had to work hard to keep her children fed, housed and clothed. Then there was the debacle of her almost wedding to a guy who belonged to one of the more prestigious families in town.

The hardest part about being back in Tobias is that Steve seems to be following her around town. What can he want with her now? She knows she's really never gotten over Steve but with all that's come between them, how could they ever start over again?

This book isn't just about second chances, it's also about a town rallying around when you least expect it. I laughed and I cried through this whole book. It is a great read and it's also a keeper! I look forward to the next book in this series!
