"An enjoyable historical romance novel"
Nick Gentry has had a rough life. After being left an
orphan he had to learn to survive on the streets. Now
after several years on the wrong side of the law, he's
offered an opportunity to become a Bow Street Runner or go
to jail. Once he's a Bow Street Runner, he becomes the best
they've ever seen. The only problem his friends see is
that he sometimes doesn't seem to care if he lives or dies. Nick has accepted a new private contract to go after and
bring back a young woman who's run away. Charlotte Howard
ran away from her private school when it became clear to
her that she just couldn't marry her benefactor. When she
meets with him she senses that something is wrong.
Running away seemed her only option. She changed her name
and accepted a position as a companion to an elderly lady. Nick has tracked Charlotte down when all of the others
couldn't find her. He was able to procure an invitation
to a private weekend party in the country. Once there,
Nick can't stop thinking about Charlotte. She's nothing
like he expected and he finds himself growing more
attracted to her every time he sees her. This was a very enjoyable historical romance and I stayed
up all night to finish. The book started off with some
very hot scenes and the characters were intelligent as
well as easy to care about. I recommend reading LADY
SOPHIA'S LOVER before reading this one. It's not a must,
but both books are enjoyable and some parts of WORTH ANY
PRICE will make more sense after reading LADY SOPHIA'S
LOVER.

SummaryWhat is the price of love? Nick Gentry is reputed to be the
most skillful lover in all England. Known for solving
delicate situations, he is hired to seek out Miss Charlotte
Howard. He believes his mission will be easily
accomplished -- but that was before he met the lady in
question. For instead of a willful female, he discovers one
in desperate circumstances, hiding from a man who would
destroy her very soul. So Nick shockingly offers her a very
different kind of proposition -- one he has never offered
before. He asks her to be his bride. And he knows that this
will be much more than a union in name only. For he senses
what Charlotte does not yet know -- that her appetite for
sensuality matches his own. But what Nick learns surprises
him. For while London's most notorious lover might claim
Charlotte's body, he quickly discovers it will take much
more than passion to win her love.
