REVIEW

"A night to remember"

Sensuality--This is considered an erotic story, but besides the language, there was nothing here I haven't read recently in some series romances.

A three hour romance leads to a quick marriage, a night of love, and single parenthood for Luna Xavier, when she wakens alone. Not knowing where to start looking for her errant husband, Luna gets on with her life as best she can.

For James Sebastian, the night is an alcoholic blank, leaving only dreams of a fantasy woman with violet eyes and black hair. The memory loss does sober him up, though, and his life is going well, until a polo accident leaves him in a wheel chair, with no ability to achieve an erection.

The threads of their lives come together once again, eleven years later, when Luna moves to England to fill a vacancy in the Blackshire coven and attend her sister's wedding--to James' brother. Together again, James accepts the truth of his marriage to Luna, but finds it hard to accept that such a beautiful woman could love a cripple. Luna finds it almost impossible to trust James not to leave her again, yet when push comes to shove, she finds she loves him too much to hold him to her by devious means.

"Witch of Brummel" is the second book of two witches which are sisters (the first sister's story is "Witch of Blackshire"). It is a short, fast moving story. The heroine is sweet, but a bit immature and it was never made clear why she couldn't locate the hero, if she really wanted. The hero is likable, but not really all that well developed. In fact, the whole story lacks depth, and I was a bit disappointed in the way it ended. For me, the heroine was given too much power. I was also disappointed in the way she "helped" the hero over come his sexual problems. She basically didn't do anything. I liked the secondary characters and wish this book had been longer, so I could have gotten to know them better. Yet, even with these draw backs, I will be reading the sister's story and will not give up on this author.

Summary

James Sebastian, Viscount Brummel, thought no woman could fall in love with him. Having been crippled in a riding accident that left him unable to walk and perform as a man, he spent several years of his life as a lonely recluse. And then along came Luna Xavier, an odd, quirky, witch of a woman who has the power to heal his heart and his, uh, other problem ;) Note: *This novel is the sequel to Witch of Blackshire & is also loosely connected to The Jock*
