"Erotic, steamy, but still about love."
Scandalous artist Gabriel Cristofore has made a living
painting decadent portraits of the gentry - and seducing
his subject. But when he meets Lady Elizabeth Harcourt, he
discovers he can't play games with her. Elizabeth is tired of always being on the sidelines. Never
married, she's lonely and curious about the marriage bed.
When Gabriel offers to paint her portrait, she knows the
offer is for much more than sitting for a picture. She
throws her cautious nature to the winds and indulges
herself with Gabriel's tutoring in the art of love. But
what began as a game of curiosity for Elizabeth turns
rapidly real as both parties find their hearts involved. This erotic novel by Ms. Holt gets pretty steamy, but
doesn't go overboard. The book is still about the emotions
of love and finding the place in the world where you feel
comfortable. Gabriel is an interesting hero, blatantly
taking advantage of women, but with a history that helps
you understand his chosen lifestyle. A good book. (The sex
scenes are pretty hot, so be prepared!)
