"A sizzling and passionate story of love and understanding!"
For criminal defense attorney Jena McCade, having a one-
night stand is nothing out-of-the-ordinary. But mooning
about one particular night, fantasizing about it for three
months after the fact, definitely is! The man who's caused
this dedicated playgirl to spend sleepless and sexless
nights is none other than the professional hockey player,
Tommy 'Wild Man' Brodie. Tommy is a virile, handsome man
who's as sexually active and as insatiable as Jena
herself. In other words, they're sexual soul mates! After
getting badly injured during play, Tommy shows up
unannounced on Jena's doorstep and from then on, they set
the sheets ablaze with the heat of their passion. Jena and Tommy have nothing to complain about in the
bedroom, but outside of it, they've very little in common
and this soon becomes glaringly obvious. This addicted-to-
junk-food, kitchen-hapless, chaotic and busy lawyer-girl
finds the health-food-freak, wizard-in-the-kitchen,
compulsively neat and idle Tommy getting on her nerves and
vice versa. Jena thinks of Tommy as nothing more than a
jock and Tommy thinks of Jena as nothing but a wild and
sexy lady. But both of them have hidden depths that they're
unwilling to reveal to the other. Jena, an up-and-coming
lawyer, has taken up the defense of prominent society lady,
Patsy Glendale, who stands accused of having cold-bloodedly
murdered her wealthy husband. Jena has taken on this 'make-
her-or-break-her' kind of case, based on motivations buried
deep within her psyche, the reasons for which lie in her
traumatic childhood. Tommy is also not who he appears to
be, as he's got quite a few aces hidden up his sleeve. Will
these two fiery and independent individuals ever discover
the truth about each other? Will they ever find
compatibility outside of the bedroom? The husband and wife writing team of Tony and Lori
Karayianni, a.k.a Tori Carrington, have created a blazing
and memorable book in Fire and Ice. Like all
Harlequin Blaze books, this one is also jam-packed with
sexual heat and pulsating with eroticism. While not
unexpected, this does increase the temperature between the
pages. The story is nothing new, but what makes this book
stand out is the fact that the authors have, with great
verve, skill and sincerity, developed their main
characters -- both individually and together - and so the
story progress along at a brisk pace to the delight of the
readers. Both Jena and Tommy are very likeable characters,
with their faults and strengths. Side characters like Mona
and others are also interesting and Jena's best friends,
Dulcy along with Marie, put in brief but significant
appearances. All in all, this book is truly worthy of re-
reading and richly deserves a place on the keeper shelf.
